Dress Code

Studio Dress Code

Dress codes are in place to maintain dance traditions, promote unity and as a commitment to high personal and professional standards in the studio. Be sure to label all your dance clothes, shoes and bags!

Many items can be purchased at our on-site Dance Store at the studio. Proper dance wear is required to all classes. School clothes and Pajama Pants may not be worn to dance class.

Students are expected to come to EVERY class in the required dress code. Requiring a specific dress code keeps it simple for students to know what they need to wear to class each week and also helps to create a professional learning atmosphere. Dance wear also allows students to move freely while also allowing their instructor to see their body alignment. We have done our best to keep the requirements to a minimum and as you'll see your dancer will be able to use the same dance wear and shoes for multiple styles.

Hair

Hair for all dance classes must be securely pulled back, away from the face and off the neck. Ponytails and buns are highly recommended. If a male student has long hair, please secure it away from the face. Hair must be styled into a slick bun with use of both bobby pins and a hair net and without stray hairs or bangs.

  • How to prepare a Proper Dance Bun: Pull hair back into a ponytail and fasten with a ponytail holder. Twist the hair into a tight spiral and wind it around the holder in a circular path, securing it with bobby pins or hair pins as you go. Cover the bun with a hair net and anchor the net with pins. Hair spray and securely clip back any stray hair strands and bangs.
